Dear Shareholders,
At the outset, it is my duty to inform you that your company has successfully handled 1.6 Lakh MT of supply of Agri. Commodities worth of Rs. 650 Cr. I would let you know that, this was largest procurement handling by community led institutions directly at farm gate level in the nation till date.
One of its significant features was the decentralized procurement model through participatory approach of the farmers, business linkages and extraordinary support during pandemic was really worthy to the farmers. I convey my profuse and profound thanks to all of you and our business partners. The success of the FPC platform becomes all the more significant when seen the prolonged lockdown necessitate by the COVID-19 platform. Efforts of the farmers were streamlined through platform of FPCs to maintain food supply chain and this is the intrinsic strength of Indian Agriculture.

During this extraordinary time of COVID 19 our company has created alternative marketing channel to explore the model of “Farm to Fork”. In a volatile economic environment MAHAFPC generated the profit of Rs. 7.4 L during the year registering growth of 150% year on year basis.
Agriculture Markets a new vertical of business where in possibilities are explored through digital platform. E-auction will bring transparency in the price discovery mechanism and would be the next generation marketing system which we all should adopt as early as possible.
PSS/ PSF Business
During FY 2019-20, MAHAFPC executed on the next phase of its growth journey forging transformative partnerships across agribusiness. Recognizing the pivotal role of MAAHFPC at the backend linkages, Agri marketing leader in the country i.e., NAFED has strategic focus to strengthen market linkages & Agri Infrastructure of value chain. Additionally, partnerships will empower FPCs seeking state of the art infrastructure for the value chain. In the Onion business, MAHAFPC is closely working with NAFED to develop integrated value chain. This partnership not only gives access to market interventions schemes by government for next 15 years to develop FPOs as market places. Our consumer durable business continues to establish new milestones each year.
Fertilizer,
The fertilizer division still in the nascent stage. MAHAFPC is working as dealer and distributor of the IFFCO in the state of Maharashtra. Still due to low demand of small and marginal farmers of pulses & oilseeds MAHAFPC is working on best cultivation practices. Partnerships has been explored with international firms like Virenxia for Research & Development along with demonstrations for productivity enhancement for crops like onion.
Agriculture Markets
NAFED e Kisan Mandi & PPPIAD Infrastructure is on track to emerge as market places outside the boundaries APMCs and at farm gate level. Combination of physical market place along with electronic platforms will improve supply chain of agriculture commodities.
COVID-19 Pandemic Response
As MSP procurement operations were exempted from the lockdown orders, FPCs responded proactively to handle supply chain of pulses. Secondly, FPCs also explored direct consumer markets for supply of fruits and vegetables in urban areas.
Conclusion
Indian Agriculture is on transition phase through marketing reforms. Despite various socio-political views on the same; MAHAFPC strives for the business opportunities out of it in the interest of members and farmers. Overall, we have delivered another year of robust performance, achieving remarkable success across our business. At MAHAFPC our purpose has been to take initiatives to address problems of farmers and country through innovative solutions. We started with assuring MSP and now diversifying toward market driven model. If we look back our history, we have always focused on fundamentals of problems rather than addressing the ephemeral / short term solutions. Our vision is to build commodity specific economies & our mission is “Grow with Growth of FPCs”. ‘Trust’ and ‘Social Capital’ which are the fundamental pillars of MAHAFPC are the core of business of social enterprises. This will improve the lives of the farmers in the state. I would like to thank our FPCs & their member farmers for their untiring & unflinching commitment to achieve the loafty goals.
